More Foolish GOP Spin

With Democrats finally pushing the investigation into the bogus intelligence surrounding Iraq's WMD's, it has forced the Republicans and their brainwashed base to go back to one of their original talking points: "even Clinton said Iraq had WMDs."

Gee, that's funny. For eight years Clinton was a pathological liar who couldn't tell the truth to save his life. All of a sudden his words are used to support GOP spin? Give me a break!

If Bush is relying so much on what Clinton said, then why did Bush ignore the explicit warnings Clinton and Sandy Berger gave him about the growing al-Quaeda threat?

Yes, Clinton and the whole world assumed Iraq had these weapons. But no one goes to war on assumptions (because when you "assume, you make an ass of u and me!"); unless of course you need those freighting assumptions to build a case for an unnecessary war.

The way this is supposed to work, is that someone from an intelligence agency comes bursting into the Oval Office with new and credible evidence showing that Saddam Hussein is indeed brewing some nasty chemicals. At that point, the President would come up with a course of action (most likely secret air strikes, not a feckless invasion).

So the fact that Bush has never told us what this "new" intelligence was and when we got it, proves it never happened. Therefore, it's obvious we went to war on lies. Because if Clinton gathered evidence to build a case for war, he eventually would have realized that there was no "imminent threat" and wouldn't have gone through with it.

So a small detail that the GOP and their mindless and gullible base fail to point out, is that Clinton didn't lie, exaggerate, manipulate or "fix the intelligence and facts around policy" to deliberately mislead the country into an unnecessary war.

But if Clinton did do that, and he was responsible for this colossal disaster, the GOP and their brainwashed base would not only be cheering his impeachment, but demanding his imprisonment. So their hypocrisy is pathological. What else is new?

Hey Repubs, keep churning out that spin because I love using facts and logic to prove it wrong and make you look foolish. It's so easy!
